Watch Trailer of ‘The OAP’ a Movie That Explores The Effect Of The Media In Different Strata Of The Society.

A new blockbuster cum drama, #THE OAP, is soon to be released in Nigerian cinemas soon.

The star-studded movie included cast like VJ Adams Ibrahim, the popular comedian ‘Frank Donga’ Nollywood veteran Antar Laniyan alongside other actors; Yewande Lawal, the AMVCA winner for Best supporting actor, Rotimi Salami , the famous video vixen; Roseline ‘Liquor rose’ Afije, and Joy Nice (from Jenifa Diary cast) Adebayo Ogundele, Kennedy Adetayo, Elizabeth Fagbemiro, Damilola Olugbode, Julius, Adetutu Salami, Bilal Olorunsanu. The popular OAP Bardia ‘Illrymz’ Olowu also made a cameo appearance in the movie.

Movie Synopsis:

The movie is inspired by a real live events and follows the story of Olaolu Cole (VJ Adams) a charismatic, suave, and intelligent popular OAP in Lagos who believes he always wants to stand for the truth as he navigates through an epic and extremely intense 24 hours of his life. Olaolu Cole asked a question he found in a magazine (in his late father’s house) on his radio show and got more than he bargained for.

Chief Gyan and Chief Smith (Antar Laniyan) are very rich and insane gamblers. They heard Olaolu over the radio when he asked the question and decided to place a very big bet on it to celebrate Independence Day which made them deployed different tactics in getting the answer before the next day. Sikiru (Frank Donga) and Lilian (Joy Nice), who lives in the ghetto too are searching for the answer, because they want the price money. They went through different struggles to try to get the answer, where they later found love instead.

The film explores the effects media has on people, in different strata of the society. It promotes integrity and good work ethics.

The OAP was produced and directed by Quam Ololade Balogun of QS9 Mulitimedia as his first feature film. Speaking on the quality and message of the movie, the director said;

“The OAP was inspired by true events. The whole journey started by teaming up with Esse Odubela who wrote the epic screen play. Then it went further to assemble the best cast and crew ever. VJ Adams didn’t come off as a debutante but rather as a professional, Rotimi Salami (AMVCA Winner), Frank Donga, Yewande, Joy, Mr Antar Laniyan, Liquor rose and Illrhymz amongst other cast gave a good account of their film characters and were all amazing to work with.
